Truth as we understand it . . .

First of all, you should know that my family believes that
Isa ( يسوع) whom the Christians call "Jesus," was a prophet that was sent to this
earth by God. We also believe that he was born of the Virgin Mary in a
supernatural way by God in a way that we can not fully understand. We do not
believe, however, that God had any sexual relations with Mary, as that was
completely unnecessary, and really unthinkable. However, since God did work the
miracle in Mary's womb, we do not feel uncomfortable in saying that Jesus is the
Son of God. As a matter of fact, we embrace this as a central fact of the nature
of God.
God is the creator of everything! He is all powerful. And, He
is the very essence of wisdom. So, if He wants to cause a virgin to conceive and
bear a son that is His business, and a great blessing for us. Why should this
bother me? God can do anything He wants to do, so how can I restrict Him in
anyway from doing what He wants to do? My duty is to accept the truth, not to
put conditions on what is true. To believe differently is to question God's
power!
Perhaps, it will interest you to know that God calls many of
us His sons and daughters, also. For, instance The Holy Bible, or New Testament
(العهد
الجديد) clearly says in the book of 1 John 5: 19 that:
"We know that we are children of God . . . ."
So, you can see that if God calls us children, we are not the
same as Isa, whom he said was His only begotten son. Surely we are not children
in the same sense that Isa is because we were not born of a virgin, because we
have an earthly parents. Therefore, we quickly understand that the word son can
have two different origins-one from a
miracle, and the other from a physical act.
I said all of that to say this to help you understand that we
do not believe that Isa is a son in the same sense that some have the privilege
of knowing that they are also children of God.
However, I know how confusing this can all become, so I
suggest that you watch and listen to a little video about Isa that some of my
friends have made. To watch the video, just click onto the pictures at the
bottom of this page. When you are through, please let me know what you think
about it.
